Mia's 1st Meet

In September of 2012, Mia decided she'd give swim team a try.  After trying out with a couple of local clubs, we decided on Orange Regional Competitive Aquatics or ORCA.  After a month of practicing 3 to 4 times per week, she was entered into her first meet on October 13 and 14 at the Joint Forces Aquatic Center in Los Alamitos, CA hosted by the swim team from Seal Beach.  She was signed up for six events:  the 200 yd, 100 yd, and 50 yd Freestyle, the 50 yd Backstroke, the 50 yd Breaststroke, and the 50 yd Butterfly.  Considering it was her first competitive swim, she did very well.  Her favorite stroke by far is her freestyle.  She placed 9th out of thirty plus girls in her division in the 50 yd freestyle and middle of the pack in her other strokes.  Special thanks go out to Lolo and Lola, Auntie Serena, Uncle Ray, Talia, Micah, Auntie Meya, and Ethan and Lauren for coming out and cheering her on.  Here are a few pictures from the two day event and a video of her 50 yd butterfly.
